Helen L Hoose

HOOSE Helen L. (Brizendine) Hoose, 96, of Omaha, Neb., passed away on Wednesday, April 18, 2018 at the Marquis Place in Elkhorn, Neb. Helen was born on December 26, 1921 in California, Mo., the daughter of Jesse M. Brizendine and Augusta C. (Wyckoff) Brizendine, both of whom preceded her in death. She later was united in marriage on December 22, 1940 in California, Mo. to Clarence Hoose, who preceded her in death in October of 1956. Helen was a seamstress in the garment industry and a loving mother. She was very active with the Salvation Army, a member of the Golden Age Community Center acting as Treasurer and loved to travel making it to 48 out of 50 states. She also was an active member of the Wornall Road Baptist Church in Kansas City, Mo. Helen is survived by one son: James Hoose and wife Donna of Omaha, Neb.; two grandsons: James S. Hoose and wife (Sarah) of Prineville, Ore. and Gerald E. Hoose of Omaha, Neb.; one great- grandaughter: Jamie Marie English of Lincoln, Neb.; and also survived by her nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by five brothers: Melvin, Earl, Ray, Donald and James Brizendine; and four sisters: Bessie Bowers, Viola Leuenberger, Grace Crawford and Eunice Brizendine. Funeral services were held Monday, April 23, 2018 at Bowlin-Cantriel Funeral Service, California, Mo. Burial was at the California City Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to the Alzheimers Association, c/o the funeral home. Arrangements are under the direction of Bowlin-Cantriel Funeral Service, California, Mo.
