Wayne "Stymie" Edward Howard

HOWARD Wayne 'Stymie' Edward Howard, 71, of California, Missouri, passed away Wednesday, April 18, 2018, at his home. He was born on July 2, 1946 in Moniteau County to Jesse Floyd and Edna (Wolfrum) Howard. Wayne graduated from Tipton High School. He served in the United States Army from January 4, 1966 through December 5, 1967. He was married to Lou Ann Bowlin on January 30, 1971. He worked for California Feed and Supply, Crown Power & Equipment, Moniteau County Road and Bridge, and MO Department of Conservation. Wayne was a farmer and loved spending time with his friends and family (especially his grandkids). He was a faithful member of the United Church of Christ where he served on the consistory and ran the sound system for many years. Survivors include: two sons, Kent Howard with his wife Gerri and their son Caleb, and Philip Howard with his wife Amy and their children Amelia and Grady, all of California; two sisters, Virginia Kirchoff of California and Ruby Allee (Carl) of Tipton; three brothers, Harold Howard, California, Donald Howard, Sedalia and Norman Howard (Bonnie), Tipton. Wayne was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Kenneth Howard. Funeral services were held Sunday, April 22, 2018, at California United Church of Christ with Rev. Eugene Moll officiating. Interment followed at the Evangelical Cemetery with full military honors. Memorials may be made to the United Church of Christ Memorial Fund.
