Doris Patricia "Pat" Summey

SUMMEY Doris Patricia "Pat" Summey, 84, of California, passed away on Thursday December 20, 2018 at the California Care Center in California. Heaven has welcomed another angel. Pat was born on April 9, 1934 in Kansas City, to John J. Powers and Irene L. Berry-Cassil, both of whom preceded her in death. Pat was a member of the Salem Baptist Church and a lifelong member of The Order of the Eastern Star and the Red Hats. She enjoyed art, painting, reading, and was always a nurturing person who liked to take care of people. Pat is survived by three sons, John B. Summey (Marijo) of Lawrence, Kan., Miki K. Summey (Donna) of Boonville, and Noel K. Summey (Pauline) of California; sister, Connie Powers-Cole of North Kansas City; 11 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. Pat was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, James R. Summey; brother, Joseph L. Powers; and sister, JoAnn L. Bearce. The family will hold a private memorial service for Pat. In lieu of flowers, a donation in her memory to the American Cancer society, c/o the funeral home is suggested. Arrangements are under the direction of Bowlin-Cantriel Funeral Services, California.
