Marvin Anton Distler

DISTLER Marvin Anton "Tank" Distler, 84, of Centertown, passed away Friday, October 26, 2018, at his residence surrounded by his wife and daughters. He was born September 19, 1934, in Lohman, Missouri, the son of the late Joseph and Estella (Jacobs) Distler. Marvin was united in marriage on May 28, 1960, at St. Martin Catholic Church in St. Martins to Wilma Brauner who survives at the home. Marvin was employed with the Missouri Bricklayers and Allied Craftsman Local 15 from 1961 till his retirement in 2011. Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Wilma Distler, Centertown; two daughters, Tonia (Darrell) Amos, Russellville; Billie Sue Boltin (Andy Rank), Jefferson City; special family friend, Carol Corum, Centertown; three grandchildren, Justin (Jessie) Patterson, Jefferson City; Kevin Boltin (Tawny Seely), Lake Charles, LA; Samantha (Dalton) Gates, McGirk; three great-grandchildren, Braxton and Alexander Patterson and Araya Gates; one sister-in-law, Ranona (Morris) Hentges; one sister, Rosalyn Fitzgerald; and four brothers, Walter, Julian, Delbert, and Roger Distler. He was preceded in death by his son, Douglas Wayne Distler; his parents; one brother; and two half-brothers. A celebration of life service will be held 4 p.m. Friday, November 2, 2018, at Dulle-Trimble Funeral Home in Jefferson City. Military honors will be conducted at the conclusion of the service. Visitation will follow the service till 7 p.m. A private family burial will be held at the Centertown Cemetery at a later date. Scrivner-Morrow Funeral Homes in Russellville and Dulle-Trimble Funeral Home in Jefferson City are in charge of the arrangements.
