Lois Jean Mattas

Lois Jean Mattas, 96, of Jamestown, Mo., passed away peacefully surrounded by all her family on Monday, March 25, 2019 at Capital Region Hospital in Jefferson City, Mo. She was born March 6, 1923, the daughter of Fred Wordelman and Flora Chambers, both of whom preceded her in death. Lois was united in marriage on October 27, 1951 in St. Louis, Mo. to Richard Mattas, who preceded her in death on July 30, 2002. She was a homemaker who loved flowers, gardening, horses, dogs, embroidery, being an excellent cook and keeping house. She was a member of the Presbyterian Faith. Lois is survived by two daughters: Carol Dahler and husband Keith of Jefferson City, Mo. and Betty Hatfield and husband David of Prairie Home, Mo. She is also survived by one grandson: Daniel Dahler and wife Alisha of Jefferson City, Mo.; and two great- grandchildren: Elliana and Anniston Dahler also of Jefferson City, Mo. Lois was preceded in death by two brothers: Fred Wordelman and Jack Wordelman; one sister: Bernice Potter; and one brother-in- law: Norman Mattas. A graveside service was held Thursday, March 28, 2019 at the Union Cemetery in Jamestown, Mo. with Brother Bickel officiating. Memorials are suggested to the Union Cemetery, c/o the funeral home. Arrangements were under the direction of Bowlin-Cantriel Funeral Services, 100 South Oak Street, California, Mo.
