Janet married the love of her life, Gary William Waterstradt, in March of 1963 and they would have been married 48 years in March of 2010 (1 month after Gary's homegoing in February 2010). Janet attended school at Jamestown School, Jamestown, Mo. and later graduated from American School of Correspondence, Chicago, Ill. Later Janet attended college at Longview Junior College, Tarkio College, and Columbia College, where she majored in bookkeeping and accounting. Janet spent over 25 years in the accounting field in Kansas City, Mo., eventually relocating to the Jefferson City area in 1987 where she retired from Don Schnieders Excavating after 22 years as the company accountant. Over the years Janet organized and was the leader for a Daisy Girl Scout Troop in Jefferson City, Mo. and she also organized and was a leader of a Cadet Girl Scout Troop in Grandview, Mo. Janet was a leader and assistant leader of her daughter Kerri's Junior Girl Scout Troop-where she attained the nickname "Wonderwoman" by the junior scouts and leaders alike when a large tree unexpectedly fell and started rolling down the hill straight towards the junior scouts. Janet literally jumped in front of the large log and with help from God and a mighty adrenaline rush was able to stop the log in mid-roll before it reached the girls and this delay allowed the girls to get out of its way. Janet also helped organize cheerleader squads for SSJAA (South Suburban Junior Athletic Association) recreation football league in Grandview, Mo. After relocating to the Jefferson City area, Janet also served as Deaconess, Sunday School Teacher and on the Hospitality Committee at Foursquare Church of Jefferson City, Mo. and was the Treasurer and a Sunday School Teacher and on the Hospitality Committee at House of Prayer Family Church in Jefferson City. Finally, after relocating for good this time back to the California, Mo. area, Janet was a greeter at New Life Christian Center. Above all Janet loved her Lord, her family, her friends and her country. Janet's hobbies included serving God, reading her bible and multiple devotions; spending time with family and taking her grandkids and great-grandkids on backroad adventures (gravel roading) where one grandchild (Alex) was famous for saying "you better have water or something to drink and eat when you go on a drive with gma because you never know where you will end up or how long you will be gone." She enjoyed crafting (especially making wreaths and flower arrangements based on the various seasons and holidays) family game nights and reading last but certainly not least Janet loved spending time making memories at their vacation home at Lake of the Ozarks and another in Athens, Mich.
