Glen M. Hays, 83, of Kitzingen, Germany died on Saturday, Nov. 23, 2013 at his home. He was born on July 15, 1930 in rural California, the son of Cecil Roy and Gladys Mabel Hall Hays, both of whom preceded him in death. Glen attended Red Brush Grade School and graduated from California High School in 1948. He was married to Marian Rohrbach in 1951. He joined the army and retired as Master Sergeant in 1968. He served in the Korean and Vietnam Wars. He received many military service awards including the Silver Star, Bronze Star, and Purple Heart. He remained in Germany and opened a restaurant business. He also worked as delivery driver with electrical company. Glen is survived by one son, Kevin Hays (Joan), California, two grandchildren, Nick (Kim) Hays, California and Lindsey (Ryan) Porter, Centertown and great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his wife, Helen Hays of Kitzingen, Germany and one step-son Willi; step-grandson Matheis, and step-great grandchildren. He is survived by brothers and sisters Norma Jean Dutcher, Russell Hays (Betty), and Frances Howard (Harold Gene) all of California, Laverne Lockard (Bruce), Jefferson City, Carol Sue Venneman, Sedalia and one sister-in-law, Sue Hays of California and many nieces and nephews. Preceding him in death were a brother LeRoy Hays of California and a sister Ruby Mathers, Sedalia, as well as a brother-in-law Lester Dutcher. Services will be held in Kitzingen, Germany.
