Leona J. Kemp

Leona J. Kemp, 65, of Jefferson City, MO passed away on Wednesday, August 20, 2014, at her home. Leona was born on July 18, 1949, the daughter of Harve G. and Dorothy L. (Spencer) Wright both of whom preceded her in death. She was a 1967 graduate of Fulton High School. She was married on December 26, 1987, at the Bible Way Church in Eldon to Floyd T. Kemp whom survives of the home. Leona was an administrative supervisor for the Mo. Dept. of Corrections and also a manager at the California Casey's for many years. She was a member of Westview Missionary Baptist Church in Jefferson City, MO. She enjoyed fishing, traveling, singing, hosting family dinners and spending time with her family. Leona is survived by two daughters, Stacy Henderson and husband Jason of J.C., MO and Monica Eads and husband John of Lees Summit, MO; two step-sons, David Kemp and wife Denise and Jerry Kemp and wife Shanna all of Davis, OK; one step-daughter, Nora McCann of Columbia, MO; three brothers, Wallace Wright and wife Carol of Eldon, MO, David Wright of Latham, MO, Jonathan Wright of Eldon, MO; three sisters, Lois Jones and Karen Wright both of Eldon, MO and Kathy Wright of Osage Beach, MO; she is also survived by nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by three grandchildren, one brother, Danny Wright, one sister Dorothy Jean Wright and one step-son William Floyd Kemp. Funeral services were held Monday, August 25, 2014, at the funeral home. Officiating was Bro. Mike Hearst. Burial was at Greenmoore Memorial Gardens near Barnett, MO.
