Royda May Weber

Royda May Weber, age 95, of Lohman, Missouri passed away Thursday, February 20, 2014, at her home in Lohman surrounded by her family. She was born June 10, 1918, in Lohman, a daughter of Charles E. and Lula Thompson Strobel. On December 22, 1945, at St. Paul's Lutheran parsonage in Lohman, Royda was united in marriage to Roy O.F. Weber, who preceded her in death June 3, 1994. Royda taught school in the public schools in Missouri and Colorado and as a substitute teacher for the Cole County R-I School District in Russellville. She was also a homemaker, busy raising her two sons. She was a faithful member of the St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Lohman, where she served as a Sunday school teacher, a Confirmation Class teacher, was active in the Margaret Circle, the Sewing Circle, and the WELCA. She was a member of the Mid-Mo Old Car Club, the Lohman Community Building Association and the DAR. Royda received a Lifetime Teaching certificate from Missouri and Colorado. Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Donald and Becky Weber of Lohman and Dan and Wendy Weber of Champaign, Illinois; five granddaughters, Connie Miller and husband Tony, Christie Murphy and husband Bob, Wendy Weber and fiancé Matt Barker, Molly Kelly and husband Matt, and Hailey Weber and fiancé Matt Fowles, five great-grandchildren, Matthew, Charlie and Mandy Miller and J.D. and Chris Murphy, along with other relatives and friends. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, one infant son, Royce J.C. Weber, one brother, Elbert E. Strobel and one sister, Grace A. Eslick. Funeral services were Monday, February 24, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Lohman with Pastor Ed Merckel officiating. Interment was in St. Paul's Lutheran Cemetery in Lohman. Memorial contributions were suggested to St. Paul's Lutheran Church. Arrangements were under the direction of the Scrivner-Morrow Funeral Home in Russellville. www.scrivner-morrow.com
