Dorothy Lucille Porter, age 93, of High Point, passed away Monday, December 26, 2016, at Moniteau Care Center in California. She was born January 26, 1923, in rural California, the second oldest daughter of Emmett O. and Ruth Melissa Jenkins Rohrbach. On January 26, 1945, in Moultrie, Georgia, Lucille was united in marriage to Kenneth Porter, who preceded her in death October 21, 1999. She was a 1941 graduate of California High School. Before she married she worked at the pants factory in California. Following her marriage she stayed busy raising her children and helping her husband on their farm. She was a faithful member of the Corticelli Baptist Church. Lucille enjoyed working outside in her garden, tying quilts and the challenge of jigsaw puzzles. She was a marvelous cook and also enjoyed baking. However, her family was her greatest treasure and the time spent with them were her most cherished moments. Survivors include: six children, Dianna Robnett of Jefferson City, Leroy (Cheryl) Porter, Janet (Charlie) Allen, Dwayne (Esther) Porter, and Jerry Dean (Charlene) Porter all of High Point and Marla (Gary) Amos of Russellville; nine siblings, Rosa Scott of California, Marion Dykes of Kingsport, Tenn., Lyda Rohrbach of California, Larna (Gerald) Morris of California, Loyd (Judy) Rohrbach of Jefferson City, Doris (Bill) Easley of Cassville, Jimmy (Patsy) Rohrbach of California, Marvin (Cheryl) Rohrbach of Kingdom City and Glen (Nancy) Rohrbach of California; 15 grandchildren, Jeffrey Robnett, Bradley (Amy) Robnett, Kim Baker, Doug (Melanie) Porter, Amy (Will) Wright, Mandy (Tyler) Asbury, Shelly (Matt) Davis, Marci Porter, Landon (Jennifer) Porter, Keely (Bryan) Dearixon, Leah Porter, Ryan (Megan) Porter, Tony (Alicia) Amos, Ellen Amos and Molly Amos; 26 great-grandchildren; along with many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. In addition to her husband, Lucille was preceded in death by: her parents; a son-in-law, Jerry Robnett; five siblings, Erma Wilhelm, Paul Rohrbach, Ruby Rohrbach, John E. Rohrbach and Carol Barbour; a grandson, Jared Porter; and a great-granddaughter. Services were Friday, December 30, at the Corticelli Baptist Church, in Russellville, Dr. Rick Seaton officiated. Interment was held in the High Point Cemetery. Memorial contributions were suggested to the High Point Renewal Association or the High Point Cemetery.
